A MERRY SLOTHFUL HOLIDAY....
Here it is, December 8th, and I am almost finished with my Christmas shopping. Not too bad, considering I have done it all from my red and white paisley recliner! Now THAT is the epitome of slothfulness. Next year it might be even worse as we are knocking around the idea of using the trusty checkbook for the "one size fits all" gift! I have been fighting that idea for a few years even though I know thats what the kids (and I use that term loosely with the exception of the grandkids) really want. We have used Amazon wish lists over the past few years but there is something not so much fun in doing that. I know - you purchase what they really want, but there is something missing for me. ( And it's all about me, right? ) When we aren't with any of our loved ones on the 25th you miss out on seeing their faces. Maybe that's a good idea considering what we have purchased for them! This year we got two, count them two, rubber Sophie Giraffes from France for teething babies. That item appeared on two lists. I won't reveal any other gifts since the big ones can read! Now I am totally dependent on UPS and the US mail to get the load here so I can wrap and ship. I WILL have to get up out of the chair for those jobs! We have about a half-foot of snow so far with more in the forecast - plus a forecast for days next week of 11 degree highs and minus lows. The lake is still not frozen. We are in a betting pool of people who have picked their date for the lake to be totally frozen...Pat picked next week and with those frigid temps he may be the winner!
To all of you who are finished with your shopping, wrapping, baking and have mailed your cards, I say this: BLEEEEECHHHHHHHH!
Translated: Way to Go!!!
