WHAT IS "LIFE" ?

I have heard all the cutsie little sayings...such as "Life's a Beach and Then You Die"... OR

"Life is What Happens to You While You're Busy Making Other Plans".

"It's not true that life is one damn thing after another; it is one damn thing over and over."

"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's Troublesome" .

One of my all-time favorites is "Life is Just a Chair of Bowlies".

Why is she talking about LIFE you might ask? I don't know - I have just been in a contemplative mood the last few days. Probably a combination of talking a lot about retirement,spending some time this week with an old friend from Jr.High School,feeling twinges in my joints,looking in the mirror - you know. All those little markers of time whooshing by. Don't get me wrong. I am blessed and so lucky to be where I am, ie alive and happy. There's just that nagging knowledge that it won't last forever! Next time you hear from me I will have moved on to something less heavy!
