DR. LAURA

Dr. Laura is "in my ear" most afternoons as I recover from my thrift store duty.
I sit at the computer, read my email, zip around visiting my bookmarked internet sites...and listen to the Dr. dispense advice. I wish I had thought of her in better light earlier in my life - she cuts to the chase and tells it like it is - all in a few minutes. I am sure there are calls she doesn't get quite right, but over-all her advice is pretty sound - especially regarding marriages and kids.
I bought into the 60's and 70's thing about the 50% rule of sharing marital chores.
There were many days when I grumbled under my breath the same thing my Mom used to say when she felt put-upon ~ "Next time I'm coming back as a man". Dr. Laura tells spouses to make the effort to go more than 50% and I can see how it would make for happier relationships. She also makes good sense when she talks about children - and Lord knows I made my share of mistakes with my four - with one more than others. Sadly you don't get "do-overs" with kids. I would LOVE to hear Dr. Laura slice thru some of our politicians BS - she would give them a slap-down for sure!
