HEY! DIAL IT DOWN!

I know it's boring to hear complaints about the weather. So be it. I'm complaining.
We have had 90 degree plus temperatures now for the past three weeks. We were blessed with a quickie rainstorm yesterday but other than that not a drop to be seen. I know the brown grass will once again turn green after a few good soakings.
The bushes and trees will also perk up when that happens. But there is one loss which I cannot abide - the end of summer tomatoes. Rats. It was a short run this year and this week I will have to return to grocery store tomatoes - to me a very poor substitute for "real" tomatoes. When they are in season I could eat them for every meal - and often do! I would drive for miles to get my mitts on the big fat juicy red fruit - and I might just try and talk Pat into that plan! Maybe if we head north a ways I can find the red treasures...
and some white corn...and a watermelon...
