CHECK, CHECK & CHECK...THE LAST 3 ITEMS ON OUR PRE-RETIREMENT PURCHASE PLAN

If the economy trended up a bit this weekend it was because we took a break from our flu-bugs and went shopping. Pat read that Chevrolet dealers were wheeling & dealing for President's Day. We have tried their other advertised sales and didn't find they reeeeally wanted to deal - but in Saturday's case - they seemed hungry. So we left our orange Aztek by their front door - and came home in a 2008 Silverado, plum cherry metallic to be exact. So Pat now has his "retirement" truck - he will be able to haul a boat of some sort, to take trash to the dump up in NY state, and just generally get back to being a truck kind of guy. He always missed his truck. He has been telling me that he couldn't clean the garage out 'til we had a truck. Hahaha. Now he's got it! Then yesterday we wanted to get out of the house as we are getting stir crazy...so we decided to ride around and maybe look for our retirement recliners. It is hard to replace recliners. The ones we have now we got at Sams Club for hardly any money about 9 years ago and they are part of the family. We stopped at Ace Hardware and found one we both liked and ordered them. So now we are finished with major purchases for the next few years. We will ease into our retirement budget gradually just to get used to it. Now of course if we happen to have a winning lottery ticket all bets are off!
