MOM IS A JEWEL!

...BECAUSE LOVE LIVES ON...

Okay. I will admit to wondering what to request my "loved ones" to DO with me at my demise. I have swung back and forth between cremation and your standard pine box. (Please none of that titanium and velvet crap!)  Imagine my delight to learn of a company which will create a gorgeous gem from my remains!  It will give new meaning to the statement that "Mom is a jewel"!

A company called LIFE GEMS has this to say on it's website:
The LifeGem® is a certified, high-quality diamond created from the carbon of your loved one as a memorial to their unique life. Love. Life’s single greatest risk. Life’s single greatest reward. Love captures your heart in a second and holds it for eternity

LifeGem diamonds are molecularly identical to natural diamonds found at any high-end jeweler. To qualify as diamonds, they must have the exact same brilliance, fire, and hardness (the hardest substance known) as diamonds from the earth, and of course, they do! LifeGem diamonds are created individually from your specific carbon source in our patented process.

So, I am thinking that my kids could fight over this HUGE rock (because let's admit that my remains will be in the XL range).  It will not be a pretty scene. The guys could end up with one heck of an ear-stud. Katie could be the envy of women over three states wearing me on her finger!

Now here is the downside....as always, it's MONEY!
Blue LifeGem Diamond - Option I (.20 - .29ct) LifeGem Price: $3,499.00
     or the Best Option .90 - .99 $19,999* $18,999/ea
You only need either the amount of hair snipped off in a normal haircut OR if sending cremated remains, separate out NO MORE THAN 8 ounces (about 1 Cup) and tightly secure in a plastic bag or other plastic container.

I can't decide if this is Cool or Creepy!
If you see my kids blinged out after I have ceased to be....you will know!!!

Have you heard of DNA2Diamonds? They are less expensive than the other company. They use the personal carbon (a lock of hair or a small amount of cremated ashes) for the diamond seed. They create the diamonds as memorials to remember a loved one (or pet) that has passed…or to celebrate special occasions, like for a wedding engagement ring, the bride and groom can combine their hair. It’s such a unique idea and it creates such a precious keepsake. Here’s an article on them:

And be sure to check out DNA2Diamonds website too! And remember, they are less expensive than the other company! http://www.dna2diamonds.com
