OH NO NO....HO HO HO!

It's not that I haven't been hearing Christmas carols since right before Halloween but it is still a shock to my system. Same shock every year...how in the heck did that year go by so quickly? As a kid, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed to take forever. Now it seems like it was just the 4th of July! If ever there was a year where I could leave all the holiday decorations in the garage and join everyone say, oh, maybe January 3rd, 2010 this would be it!

This will be the first year that it will be just the two of us. Katie's Christmas trip from San Diego to Syracuse last December was traumatic for ALL of us! Worries about her stranded in Philadelphia, diverted to Binghampton, driving to airports in blizzards...not good! She did get a free ticket out of the ordeal which made it more palatable, but only after months had passed!

Katie, Ryan & Jessica, Jason, Fritz, Erin and Robin and our grandkids will be many many miles away this Christmas.

In an effort to overcome that downer I have already decorated the house and put up the tree. That is a record for me!

Now it is on to more shopping, baking and general ho-ho-hoing!
