CHANGE OF LIFE BABY

Today is Ryan's 28th birthday. I am sure there must be some mistake about that number! He was my "Change of Life" baby...or "changed my life baby". I was 43 when he was born. I admit that I was pretty surprised to learn that I was pregnant at my advanced age. I started way back then doing the math: When he is in first grade I will be wearing orthopedic shoes; when he is in Middle School I will be mistaken for his Gramma; when he graduates from high school I will be in a nursing home. None of those dire predictions came true. His sister Katie arrived two years later and by then I was well into being a Mommy again so having her at 45 didn't phase me! Right from the start Ryan made me laugh - and he still does. He has a Great sense of humor. He pushes the envelope sometimes with his humor but so far as I know, he hasn't been punched out as yet. He has taken his time, kicking and screaming into adulthood. From what I have seen it has been a mostly enjoyable ride with the exception of some family drama in his middle years for which I am sorry. He has had the good fortune to fall in love with a wonderful person, has had an absolutely beautiful little girl, and from my lips to God's ears, will graduate from UNLV sometime in the next year, ending a record-breaking college career! He is a gifted golfer, a wonderful son, a great Dad, and as of June 12th - will be a caring, protective and honest husband to Jessica! I am very proud of him and wish him a Happy Birthday!
