WHAT CAN I SELL???
Yesterday Pat and I spent all afternoon and evening (until "ROME" came on HBO) listing things on Ebay. We set up this little savings account as sort of an experiment on USAA's website. They have this neat dealie where you can scan a check at home and make a deposit. Hey! No need to go NEAR a bank anymore.
It is waaay cool! So now we are driven to pump up that account - so we settled on the EBAY RETIREMENT PROGRAM - henceforth to be referred to as ERP.
In order for the ERP to be perfected, we decided to snoop around the house and sell some of our "stuff" on Ebay. I dragged some things out of the dining room - things that had been my mothers or grandmothers. I plugged them into Ebay and found they weren't worth much. What a bummer. Ive been dragging this stuff from coast to coast for 30 years! I did find a pretty crystal Victorian knife holder (every home needs one) but then started to wonder if maybe one of my kids might like to have that - they sure wont come from California for Velvet Sofa or Cherry Drop Leaf Table etc. In the end Pat listed some books and I listed some more clothes. And today I found a treasure trove of old wooden butter molds and trivets that will be up for grabs by the end of the day. We won't be paying attention to the Dow or the Nasdaq - the only thing that matters to us will be the ERP... I just checked a minute ago and here's the latest :Auction quantity: 21 (4 will sell)Bids:4 Offers Amount: $31.75
