NDIY
Translated = NOT DO IT YOURSELF! We have just done our very best to ratchet up the economy. In addition to adding to the coffers of the MGM chain with our visit to Las Vegas last month, we have just finished some major projects here at ye olde retirement trailer. The whole chain of check-writing started several weeks ago when our hot water heater bit the dust. The guy who fixed it responded favorably to Pat's question regarding his skill at installing whole house water filtration systems. Cha-ching. Then our dryer gave up after valiant service over the last 20 years...followed almost immediately by the gas stove. So, there we were, at Lowe's, picking out a truckload of appliances...as long as we were getting a few, we decided to retire the rest. I am now staring lovingly at a fortress of stainless steel which will likely outlast me. I can now drink water from our taps, via a shore-well, without the fear of bacteria and lake squigglies included. The water-softener part makes showers and hair-washing very much nicer. The same people who did all of the above also installed a hot/cold shower outside - something I have always wanted. There is nothing like a hot shower - outside! They put our dock in, sealed the driveways, installed ceiling fans, and next week will be back to construct an enclosed breezeway between the house and garage so we wont have to risk life and limbs getting to the car this winter. So, as you can see we are doing our part with the shovel-ready stuff. The end however is near so someone else will have to pick up the slack. Do it for the U-S-A!!!!!
