MY SOUTH MY TEAM MY BRAVES

The boys of summer have turned into the men of autumn...I'm talking about the BRAVES! They are eliminated from the play-offs for the first time in 15 years - they were unable to give their skipper Bobby Cox a 500 season, hard as they tried. But they have been fun to watch these last few weeks. I've been a baseball fan since my three sons played Little League. All those hours of sittting on hard bleachers yelling encouragement, providing treats, working at the snackbar turned me into a fan. I still like the snackbar at Turner Field (why do hotdogs at the ballpark taste so yummy?). Now that the Braves season is winding down, it's fun to see them still working so hard to win - nothing in it for them but pride and professionalism. They just put the Astros away tonight - and that is sweet revenge for the 18 inning loss last year in the pennant battle! Opening game of 2007 season is just a mere 6 months away. Go Braves!
