WOULDJA PASS MRS. CLAUS A BON-BON?
It had to happen eventually. I have been whipped into a frenzy at Christmas for the past - oh, 50 years. There were the early days when I was in line at Toys'R Us with two shopping carts. There was a Christmas in '71 when my water broke during Christmas shopping and I had a new gorgeous baby for Christmas. The shopping, decorating and baking was already done. There was a Christmas when I was 9-1/2 months pregnant and still frenzied myself into decorating and baking and managed to schedule the C-section for the 26th. There were years as a single Mom when I didn't have a clue how I would get through working, shopping, wrapping, shipping and baking - but I did it. I always wanted everything to be so special for us all. WELL, this year there is NO FRENZY!! For that very reason Christmas might be different this year, especially for those on the wishing and receiving end of things! My kids have all said they don't want ANYTHING. That makes giving a challenge. Maybe the one size fits all greenbacks will make the season merry! No one will be getting a Christmas card and the people I think of all the time will not be getting those little somethings that I love to do to let them know how special they are to me. Velly solly. If the family packages and boxes are late, please forgive me. Mrs. Claus is taking a Christmas vacation and will catch you all next year. Hey Santa, could you bring me some more hot tea and another bon-bon?
