YOU ARE INVITED....

I am throwing a casual little luncheon this coming Wednesday with Mahmoud and was hoping you might be able to come. Pat will be roasting a goat and I will make my famous flatbread. We will have a few neighbors in - the minister at the Baptist Church at the bottom of the hill, a visiting rabbi from Atlanta, and the owner of one of the largest pork processors in northern Georgia. It should be a really interesting few hours. I know that this little home-cooked lunch won't compare with the one he will attend with the NY Times. But perhaps by sitting down and just sharing ideas and opinions we will bring our two countries closer.

I will be anxious to ask him why he said the following over the last few months:

"Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury”
“We believe that atomic energy is a blessing given by God, ... It's an opportunity. It is a clean energy. It is a healthy energy.”

“As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map”

"We ask the West to remove what they created sixty years ago and if they do not listen to our recommendations, then the Palestinian nation and other nations will eventually do this for them."

We invited Hugo and Fidel also - and Sean Penn and Cindy Sheehan - Fidel said he couldnt make it but we haven't had an RSVP as yet from the others.Do you think Mahmoud likes sweet tea?
