TWICE THE FUN, TWICE THE MORTGAGES!

The mini-move has been accomplished. It was a grueling trip but we made it without any problems other than shelling out big bucks for gas from here to there! Wow! Pat said the UHaul got 9 miles to the gallon. We got lots of chances to stop and stretch as we were filling it up! Closing went as scheduled. Money changed hands, big smiles from the sellers! My cousin Bonnie and husband Gary were sooo helpful to us, putting up with us once again for a few nights, feeding us, pointing us in the right directions for carpet estimates etc. Max The Wonderdog was NOT so sure about his new home. He ate a window blind when we left him for the first (and only) time on Friday night. Here he can sit by a window and watch for us to return. Up there he couldnt find an outside view so he created one. We "bad-dogged" him for a while just so he would know eating blinds was unacceptable. Right now he is sitting by the window looking at his poppity and making sure all is safe! Pat is back to work today facing a few weeks of bank examiners which is always stressful. The regulations that are imposed on banks must be a nightmare!

As far as the Lake House plans are concerned, while we were there we got three estimates for carpeting and flooring, met with a contractor who will get us an estimate on creating a front porch and entrance, a dining room and storage room. Right now the whole house has carpeting from the early 90s everywhere...bathrooms included (yuk). The storage is on the short-side so we do need that storage room! We sat in the New Recliners and could look at the Lake and the TV - Pat's retirement dream!

We are anxious to get back up there as soon as we can. The next visit it will be warm and we will be able to launch Captain Pat's Dinghy...now THAT will be a Kodak Moment for sure!
