CHRISTMAS LITE

CHRISTMAS LITE is almost wrapped up!Very few decorations have been dragged upstairs.
Very few Christmas Chatchkis are on display. Christmas boxes are half-mailed - the first wave to California and parts west went on Friday and cost more than the gifts inside the boxes. UPS clerk: "Would you want to ship these Ground (said in a disdainful way) or FIRST CLASS (said in a chirpy way)...Ground will get there by Valentine's Day and FIRST CLASS will be there by Wednesday." They have you by the..er...uh...nose. Tomorrow, wave two leaves Santas Workshop heading for Pennsylvania and parts North. I noticed that they keep the temperature of the UPS shop about 115 degrees so that you will do almost anything to get out of there. That includes writing 6 figure numbers on your check.

I baked 4 kinds of cookies. Pat was dismayed to see them being packed up in little cans heading out with the Christmas boxes. But his face lit up when he could see a few baggies left for us.

No cards have been written. Might get to that tomorrow. I will probably write a Christmas Letter to stick in with the cards (Don't you just LOVE some of the letters you get at this time of the year?) One year I bragged in my letter that my son was in detox, my daughter out on probation from shoplifting, my husband not having much luck finding a job, etc. Got a few chuckles from that one!

Hope you all are taking a few deep breaths and sitting down once in a while for a nice hot cup of tea! I'll be thinking of you!
