GEOGRAPHICALLY UNFULFILLING....

I just returned from my trip to the Left Coast. It was soooo wonderful - I got to see almost all of my "kids"...and to get my smoocher on our brand new grandaughter ZOE GRACE. She is so tiny and cute! I predict she will be crawling in another month!  I was so impressed with son Ryan and Jessica - they seem born to be parents! I loved spending time with my daughter Katie and to be part of her adventurous life for a few days. (She has just decided to chuck San Diego and move to Las Vegas so she can finish school before she is on Medicare.) She has been attending San Diego State and budget cuts have made getting classes she needs almost impossible. It would take her 5 years to finish she has been told. Pfui. So off she goes to a totally new life!  I am excited for her!  To cap my trip off, I was able to get up to LA to see son Jason (The Chef) and his brand new wife whom I loved right away!  They are both thrift store fanatics so I foresee some fun Goodwill/Salvation Army visits in my future with them! Jason's restaurant (it is called LOCAL and is on Sunset in Silverlake) is doing well and after having lunch there I can see why!! Jason and Sindy came down to San Diego to continue our visit and we were able to squeeze in two more thrift stores and dinner at a chichi vegetarian restaurant!  Kate did all the driving and for that I was so thankful. When you haven't driven those freeways for a while (take the 405 to the 5 to the 10 to the 101N to the....) you need drugs to cope!  Then came the hard part.  I had to get on a plane and fly 3000 miles back home. Of course I missed Pat - A Lot - but when you get right down to reality, you just never know when you can make that trip again.( Have you flown lately? The seats have gotten so much smaller haven't they? They have shortened the seat belts too - probably trying to save money - they are so cheap! )So here I am on the Right Coast, missing everyone on the Left Coast like crazy! Not to mention our family 5-10-15 hours from here!
