SLIDING SCALES.....
Some of life right now falls under the category of SLIDING SCALES.
The First Scale deals with the ever-present evil weight loss journey. I have discovered that if I Slide the bathroom scale around the floor in certain spots I can register a lower number. This ritual can take up to 20 minutes. I haven't tried to find a spot in the rest of the house that might knock off 3 or 4 pounds but that is a thought! Just picture a nekkid woman in her sunset years sliding her bathroom scale from room to room. Well, maybe not!
One of the many reasons we are paying attention to the numbers on the scale is yet another affront being set up by our big brothers in Washington - being taxed an a Sliding Scale based on one's weight!! The OTP - or the Obese Tax Police will be led by the Fat Czar. When they knock on the door here and try to get ole Pat on the Government Scale it will not be a pretty sight and will most likely be on the national news. It will be an event which will certainly include firearms.
The third Scale pertains to time spent on Ebay and Craigslist compared to number of minutes in the day. I confess to being addicted to both. On Ebay I can find the perfect whatever that I am looking for, and at the moment that is dress shirts for Pat. It beats driving all over town looking for the perfect size, style and cloth. At Craigslist.com I always check two places - BOATS and FREE. After losing our boat last summer to Hurricane Ike I dream of finding the perfect pontoon boat for under $1000! I know-two chances! But it is fun to look! You would be amazed at what people want to give you FREE on Craigslist! I love snooping through the lists.
Sliding scale #4 has to do with the Braves batting averages compared to those of the Marlins, Phillies, and Mets. Pat and I are able to follow the Braves up here thanks to MLB.com. He has a wire that runs from his computer and the MLB website to our TV here in the family room. We can follow the ups and downs of our Bravos as the season shows signs of waning. Things aren't looking that great for The Boys.
I believe they are 4 games out of a wild card slot...and waaaaay behind those nasty Phillies. How can I say that about a team from the State of My Birth?? Easy!
