LIFE IN THE IGLOO
There's not much happening today on the lake. I got up early to check the fishing lines and they were empty again. I was able to get the fire going pretty well and managed to melt two gallons of water before I ran out of firewood. Max and I will be waiting for the plow to come by and bring us the mail and some flatbread that I ordered. The bread makes the dried fish bearable. I have maybe 12 or more apples left and a few potatoes. Hopefully when Pat gets home this weekend he will bring more provisions. Last night I was bundled up in the blankets and a fur wrap, the fire was almost out, when I heard really loud cracking noises from the lake. The natives say this bay is never totally frozen so I am just hoping that the igloo is in the best possible spot. There are many visible cracks which show, and you can hear weird gurgling noises from the deep as the water moves below. My wind-up radio works pretty well, although my arm is tired from cranking it up...same with my survivor flashlight and my wind up cell phone charger. Other than that, life is good here in the igloo...wish you were here!
