PHONY SOLDIERS AND PHONY POLITICIANS
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE 'SPLAIN TO ME HOW THE HOUSE AND SENATE HAVE REGRESSED TO SUCH A CESSPOOL OF PHONINESS AND TREACHERY?
RE: The Rush Limbaugh "Hit"
The LEADER OF THE US SENATE, Harry Reid said on the floor of the SENATE:
"Rush Limbaugh took it upon himself to attack the courage and character of those fighting and dying for him and for all of us. Rush Limbaugh got himself a deferment from serving when he was a young man. He never served in uniform. He never saw in person the extreme difficulty of maintaining peace in a foreign country engaged in civil war. Yet he thinks that his opinion on the war is worth more than those who are on the front lines."
(By the way Harry never served in the military nor has Edwards, Obama or Hil so does that mean the Senate leader will be all over them like fleas on a dog also?)
“And what’s worse says Harry, "Limbaugh’s show is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio, which means that thousands of troops overseas and veterans here at home were forced to hear this attack on their patriotism. Rush Limbaugh owes the men and women of our Armed Forces an apology "----and he polished off his comments by saying that probably Rush was "on drugs" again. This on the floor of the SENATE. I hope you have looked at EXACTLY what Rush Limbaugh actually DID say - referring on ONE soldier who was a media darling when he was quoted about soldiers killing and torturing Iraqui civilians. His story went around the world. In reality this soldier was kicked out of boot camp after a little over a month and never was in Iraq...hence the term from Rush as a "phony soldier". He has always been supportive of the troops.I would prefer the kind of support Rush Limbaugh provides the troops over what Reid, Murtha, Durbin, Clinton, Kerry, Rangel, Pelosi, Harkin, or anyone from their pathetic lot thinks they offer the troops any day.
There is a concerted effort with Democrats (check out MediaMatters.com - which Hil helped form)to dirty-up prominent right-leaning media types...they did a number on Bill O'Reilly last week and this week it is Rush Limbaugh's turn.
It scares the poop out of me what is happening in Washington.
POSTSCRIPT: Now Elizabeth Edwards came out today to say that Rush Limbaugh is a "draft dodger"- How does that make me feel? Like spitting nails actually.
What did her husband do to serve his country during wartime? Nothing. Nada. When asked he said his draft number was "too high" and he never got called. In truth his number was that of many others who did serve in Vietnam. Pulling number 178 in the February 1972 Selective Service lottery drawing, Edwards’ number was lower than more than half of those picked.
