WE BE HERE!

Actually, we have been here since June 30th. To say it was a loooooooong trip would be the understatement of the year. To illuminate that statement, picture us checking into a bed and breakfast at 630am after driving more hours than we wanted to. No room at many inns between northern Pennsylvania and here in Watertown. It was a combination of dog shows, graduations, air shows etc that filled the motels. Imagine being an innkeeper awakend in the middle of a nice sleep and actually saying "sure - drive right up here and of course you can bring your dog!". There's a place in heaven for that man!

We haven't had a lot of time for R&R...got the furniture unloaded, and bushes cut down along the seawall that had grown so high we could barely see the water! Big thanks to my cousin and her husband who slaved with us to get that awful job done.
Today we got the kitchen floor in, and both the bathrooms are floored. Tomorrow they return to carpet the 3 bedrooms and the living room. The next day they will finish up with the family room and the laundry room.

During all this time the contractors are here doing their remodeling thing. I love watching how they do everything. I am especially impressed with professional tools. I would love to try out that nail gun! Max the Wonder Dog is not as fond of the equipment as I am. He hides when the circular saws are going or when the nail gun
fires up!

We sat out on the deck this afternoon amazed at our luck. The air was cool, the breezes were gentle, the waves lapped at the seawall...we felt as if we were on the deck of a cruise ship! All comments about "yeah wait til January and see how you like it" have been heard many times! We still have that house in Georgia for sale with one bed left down there so we do have an escape plan if we need to get away for a few weeks!
