LITTLE "BABIES" ......

When I went to get my regular opthamology check up the doctor said that all was great, not much change in my prescription and that oh by the way, you have two "baby cataracts". Whoa...back up! She explained that they could stay the way they are for ten years - or get more cloudy over just a few years. I have noticed over the last few months that I am always cleaning my glasses of "smudges" when instead I should have been cleaning my real lenses! I wasn't happy to hear about cataracts since my only experience with them was through my Mom's cataract surgery. My recollection is that she had that surgery when she was fairly young (younger than I am now). Afterwards she ended up with these high-power glasses which magnified her eyes by about 60% giving her an owlish look - a GRUMPY owlish look. I tell you - this getting older is definitely not for the wimpy. As I have said many times, in my next life I hope to come back with 20-20 eyes and bigger ta-tas. Until then - and I am NOT in a hurry to try a second life - hand me a cane and call me Helen like my friend Madelyn does!
