LIVING IN LIMBO IN MY SUNSET YEARS

If this is November we must be in....New York? Georgia? Being a Medicare-Card-Carrying Nomad ain't easy! Whatever I reach for is in the other house. When sales clerks request my phone number I have to stop and think - and even worse - try and remember phone numbers, zip codes, etc. My key ring has so many grocery and drug store customer frequent buyer cards that I feel like a Vegas blackjack dealer when I sort thru them to find the right one. When I am cooking I open a drawer here in Georgia and find it empty except for a few make-do thrift store utensils. The good stuff is already in New York. When I am in New York I reach for my crock pot and - oh yes -it is here in Georgia. Soon we will pack another Uhaul and head north, hopefully ahead of major snow, leaving this house barer and barer. When duty at the bank calls Pat it will be more and more like camping out here on the mountain-top.
This nomadic life will continue until the Georgia house sells. I should live so long!
We are down to one and a half beds here in Ellijay (one just has the box spring) so if y'all come, better BYOB - (bring your own bed)!
