LIFE'S HILLS & VALLEYS

My best friend from high school just found out she has - and we all dread even saying the words - endometrial cancer. One day she was out enjoying the pretty gardens she has created around her mountain cottage, and the next day she got a rude slap in the face from LIFE. It is my belief that she caught it as early as possible - since there aren't any tests for it . After a hysterectomy and ensuing recovery she will be back out with her flowers. I feel badly that she will have to go through the fear and the physical pain. I mentioned to her that it is so weird that you drift along fat and happy and then something kicks you in the butt and reminds you of how comforting those little routines of life are, much as we complain about them. And also comforting to have family and old friends who care!
