NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE.....

A friend of mine shared that line with me about 15 years ago. I thought it was such a mind-provoking statement then, and today it still sticks in my head. Basically, to me, it means that whether I am in San Diego, Griffin, Ga, Ellijay or here in Dexter, New York I am the same. Let's say I might daydream about moving to the coast of North Carolina. The geography would be different but I would be the same person. I would have the same cravings for tuna sandwiches or an Oreo Cakester. I would procrastinate cleaning the refrigerator or working on my three quilts that I have started. I would still look in the mirror wherever I might be and wish to be thinner or younger or less wrinkled. Those moments in life when I might say to myself "If only I has a house with a pool" or "I wish I could live closer to my kids - that would be perfect!!"
Now I know better. Some negatives might be traded for different negatives, and some positives would be replaced with other positives. But, basically no matter where I am ---there I am!

As the old Pennsylvania Dutch saying goes - "We Get Too Soon Old and Too Late Smart"!  I am still working on the smart part of that one!
