SPURTS
I used to be a dynamo. Really! Pat was always telling me to give it a rest...sit down for a minute...take it easy for Petes sake! This dynamo better switch to Energizer batteries!
Just a few years ago when we moved here, I painted every conceivable surface in and out of the house except the two story garage. I dug up strips of sod along the front of the house and rolled them to an area in front of the porch that was basically a gravel driveway. After scraping the ground I laid the strips and clumps out and stomped on them, watered them, trying to coax them into a regular "lawn". (Turned out to be not too bad!)
This year is a different story. I have a bunch of daylilies which were dug up when some guys came to landscape and area in the yard which had gullies and bumps. They put the lilies in a large trash bag and yesterday and today I have been transplanting them. Yes! A two day job for an ex-dynamo! The muscles in the backs of my legs were complaining enough that the job required multiple sit-downs. How many spurts does it take to transplant lilies??? Don't ask! I can tell you for sure that if you don't use it you really DO lose it. I am not giving up...there are more chores on my list. If I have to do them in spurts, so be it! A spurt is better than nothing, I always say!
